Our Director
Professor
Rodolfo Apreda holds a Ph.D. in Economics (University of Buenos
Aires,1998), a Master in Political Science (University of Cema, 2006), as well as Diplomas in Economics (University of Buenos Aires,
1983) and Mathematics (Caece University, 1978). He currently teaches
courses in the Master and Ph. D. Programs at the University of Cema,
mainly in Capital Markets, Corporate Finance, and Corporate Governance.
He was appointed as Visiting Fellow at the Salomon Center of
the Stern School of Business, New York University, where he did
research in January-March 2001 and as Visiting Scholar at the Center
for Corporate Governance, University of Delaware, where he did research
in January-March 2002.
His main fields of interest are Public and Corporate Governance; Information in Capital Markets; Codes of Good Practices.
Dr.
Apreda has been presenting papers for the last years in international
congresses held by the Eastern Finance Association, USA, (1998, 1999,
2001, 2002, 2003 and 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007); the Midwest Finance Association, USA( 2001,
2004); the Missouri Economic Association, USA (2001); the Australian
Financial Management Association (1998, 2000); the University of
Sheffield, UK, (1999); the Argentine Economic Association (1997,1998,
2000, 2003, 2006); the Latin American Economic Associations(1999), the
Central Bank of Uruguay International Meeting (2003).
Professor
Apreda regularly contributes to learned journals. His last papers were
published by the Journal of Multinational Finance Management; the
Journal of Applied Economics; the Salomon Center Working Papers Series
at New York University; Corporate Governance: International Review;
Ownership and Control.
He wrote nine books in Spanish on Financial Economics
issues (namely, about Financial Mathematics, Monetary and Foreign
Exchange Analysis, Investment Analysis, and Pension Funds). The last ones have been "Mercado de Capitales, Portfolio Management y Corporate Governance" (Editorial La Ley, Buenos Aires, 2005) and "Corporate Governance" (Editorial La Ley, Buenos Aires, 2007).
He wrote two books in English, the first one published in May 2005 (Differential Rates, Residual Information Sets and Transactional Algebras), by Nova Science Publishers, New York, while the second one is to be published in December 2007 (Public Governance: A Blueprint for Political Action and Better Governments) also by Nova.
